Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA – 5 days Onsite Role.

Job Overview

The Civil/Structural Design Engineer will support the design and analysis of solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. This role involves reviewing and revising commercial and utility plan sets, including site plans, geotechnical reports, structural details, and equipment specifications. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams, customers, and contractors to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and review designs for solar PV and BESS projects.
• Perform structural analysis and calculations for foundations, loads, and material specifications.
• Review site surveys, geotechnical reports, and environmental impact studies.
• Work closely with project teams to optimize system design and construction.
• Assist in developing proposals, estimating, procurement, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews of design documents and site visits for verification.

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited preferred).
• 2+ years of relevant experience in civil/structural design, ideally in solar/PV or utility-scale projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, L-Pile, Google Earth, RISA, and MS Office; PLSCADD experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of structural analysis, construction best practices, and project management.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel 5-25% of the time within their California locations. All travel will be fully paid for. (95-75% of the role will be onsite in Santa Fe Springs location.)

Work Environment
• Primarily office-based, with occasional fieldwork in varying weather conditions.
• Exposure to industrial equipment and high-noise environments during site visits.
