Cognos Developer – Hybrid

Job Title: Cognos Developer
Duration: 1 year+
Location: Davis, CA- Candidate can be in the Bay Area or surrounding areas. Just has to be willing to be onsite 2x weekly.
Rate: $40-45/hr on W2

Searching for a Cognos Developer to support Report Writing and Maintenance of HR, payroll, and financial reporting.
• 5 + years of experience. Build and document new Cognos reports based on input from Functional Design Document including look and feel, data access, and user interface
• Investigate and resolve performance issues with queries/reports.
• Create and execute test plans/scripts for internal testing of new and existing reports.
• Create advanced SQL analytic queries to support business needs that may not be housed in a BI tool.
• Display knowledge and experience working with Cognos 11.2.1
• Writing and Developing Reporting
• Prepare technical, operational, and user-related documentation in support of report and report applications.
• Prepare technical, operational, and user-related documentation in support of report and report applications.
• Design, build and maintain dashboards and interactive reports in Cognos
• Designing and developing Cognos applications, creating data models, developing reports and dashboards, and developing Cognos solutions.
• Previous experience working with financial and/or payroll data preferred
• Selects the most relevant tools/techniques to meet specific client requirements
• Partner with IT and support the design/configuration of Cognos framework
• Consult with users, analyze requirements, and recommend technical design and specifications.
• Develop and maintain thorough system documentation and training materials related to software and hardware used for visualization.
• Able to identify incomplete data, improve quality of data and integrate data from several data sources.
• Collaborate with management and developers on the efficient use of Cognos and other visualization tools and how those technologies can be applied to effective data visualization applications.

Key Skills
• 5+ years’ experience as Cognos Developer
• Proven work experience as an individual contributor and team player
• Partner with IT and support the design/configuration of Cognos framework
• Prior development experience working with Cognos Analytics 11.x and above
• Data model design and understanding in Cognos Analytics version 11.x Framework Model
