The D365 Finance & Operations Technical Lead (D365 F&O Technical Lead) will be responsible for leading technical aspects of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementation projects. This role requires a deep understanding of D365 F&O technical architecture, development methodologies, and best practices. The Technical Lead will collaborate closely with functional consultants, project managers, and business team to design, develop, and deploy solutions that meet business requirements. The candidate must be proven developer / technologist in IT with experience in design / delivering technical solutions with a focus on distributed / cloud technologies.


• Lead a team of developers and technical consultants in the design, development, and deployment of D365 Finance & Operations solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
• Work closely with functional consultants and clients to understand business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
• Architect solutions that leverage the capabilities of D365 Finance & Operations platform to address client needs effectively.
• Customize D365 Finance & Operations through extensions, integrations, and custom code development using X++, .NET, and other relevant technologies.
• Develop and maintain data migration scripts, reports, and workflows as needed.
• Create and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, configuration guides, and deployment instructions.
• Ensure documentation is comprehensive, accurate, and up to date throughout the project lifecycle.
• Leads & Performs code reviews and quality assurance activities to ensure solutions meet technical standards, performance requirements, and security protocols.
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing as needed.
• Collaborate with project managers and functional consultants to ensure timely delivery of technical milestones within budget and scope.
• Communicate effectively with clients to address technical concerns, provide updates, and solicit feedback.
• Work with project stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical design specifications.
• Create technical design documents, code, test, debug, and deploy D365 solutions.
• Collaborate with other developers, technical leads, and project managers to ensure that D365 solutions are delivered on time and to specifications.
• Leads the technical support and troubleshoot D365 solutions when issues arise.
• Stay up to date with the latest D365 features and technologies to provide innovative solutions to customers.
• Leads the detailed design of multiple technologies under the guidance of Delivery Architect
• Produces design and development of software solutions based upon requirements, high level design, guiding principles and patterns.
• Design and development of new systems with an emphasis on minimized maintenance requirements, as well as maintenance and enhancement of existing systems
• Evaluates business requirements and high-level designs for delivering proper solutions.
• Systems analysis design and debugging of new systems / integrations.
• Escalation issues / options / risks / awareness and facilitates technical sessions / issue resolution.
• Ability to support / troubleshoot complex integrations and data.
• Ability to program for support activities / small enhancements and support of project.
• Proactively learn and utilize new technologies, concepts, and procedures as appropriate to project requirements.
• Develop and execute integration strategies that align with business objectives and project requirements.
• Assess integration needs and recommend appropriate technologies and tools to achieve seamless data exchange between D365 Finance & Operations and other systems.
• Lead a team of integration developers and specialists, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive the design, development, and implementation of integration solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
• Design and develop custom APIs, web services, and connectors to facilitate data exchange between D365 Finance & Operations and external systems.
• Leverage D365 F&O standard APIs and integration frameworks to enable real-time and batch data synchronization.
• Define data mapping rules and transformation logic to ensure data consistency and integrity across integrated systems.
• Implement data validation and error handling mechanisms to manage exceptions and discrepancies during data exchange processes.
• Plan and execute integration testing activities to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of integration solutions.
• Collaborate with QA teams and end-users to identify and resolve integration issues in a timely manner.
• Establish monitoring and alerting mechanisms to track the health and performance of integration interfaces.
• Proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks, scalability issues, and data synchronization conflicts.
• Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams.
• Reviews technical designs from vendors for JM solutions / systems.
• Assisting with reviewing the plans and monitoring the execution of testing
• Stays informed of current industry trends and emerging technologies and keeps skills current on modern technologies and tools.
• Skilled with knowledge transfers / handoffs (e.g., support transition / knowledge)

Skills and Qualifications

• BSc. Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. (MUST)
• Proven experience leading technical aspects of D365 F&O implementation projects from inception to delivery.
• Strong proficiency in X++ development, .NET framework, and relevant programming languages.
• Experience with D365 Finance & Operations data migration, integration, and customization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
• Microsoft certifications in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or related technologies are highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL development
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, and source control management systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with project stakeholders and team members at all levels.
• Experience with agile development methodologies is a plus.
