Overview:

This is not one project. Looking for a data arch that can work with our tech product teams. We have tech product scrum teams that are organized around a data domain. Example: all within customer but we have 4 different teams with different sets of customer data (these customers are those who are consuming energy and gas) They identify how that data will be made available to be consumed for any sort of project or effort. Our customer data services team makes customer contact data and relationship to billing data and products. This team architects and builds not only ingestion of that data but quality and identifying the sources where this is made available. They would help architect data APIs, we have APIs that provide crud functionality against a customer contact. That teams job is to implement and make sure it is aligned with the standards. Then the data can be used by a web application that might need to pull contact data, a notification framework that needs to publish notifications to the contacts, etc.

Should have a strong understanding of data and integration architecture. Has a drive to understand the tech of data and integration but also has a desire to understand data as an information product. They want to understand how the business uses the data, how to maintain data, etc…Need someone who has a desire to understand business processes.

When they are given a problem, they can lay out the architectural solution and hand that down to a development engineer to implement it.

Team: will sit on the Payment and Product Data Services Team (still under Customer) They will work with the other data archs and solution archs on the other teams.
They will work with a scrum team of 9 people, has PO, SM, another solution arch, data and integration engineers, etc. It is an agile team, run 2 weeks prints. They will lead the architecture solutioning done by the team.

Ideal candidate:
Wants to see that someone has been in data and integration domain for 10+ years. Should have worked with a variety of platforms, but some AWS is a must have.

Tech stack:
We use AWS data services, aurora, postgres, aws document databases, etc..
We also have databricks. So a solid understanding of a data lakehouse platform is ideal. Doesn’t necessarily need a databricks person, but they should know the concepts and assess where something might get built.
From an integration perspective we use AWS capabilities, informatica CAI, lambda, javascript, API Gateway, Apigee, IBM middleware.

Ramp up time: if they have Utilites or customer domain – probably a month.

Industry: utilities – strong nice to have. As long as they have customer, she can overlook utilities.
