We are seeking an experienced Python Full Stack Architect with strong expertise in Python, FasAPI, Microservices, and Angular. The ideal candidate will provide architecture and technical leadership for scalable enterprise applications, with Angular as a key skill.

Job Description
Role Overview
Seeking a Technical Lead to support the customer’s Study Design Hub, an enterprise product ecosystem that enables scientists and clinical-development teams to ideate, author, evaluate and refine clinical study designs.The platform combines structured study-design authoring, scenario management, coherence and compliance capabilities, analytical experiences, AI-assisted workflows, and integrations with customer’s broader clinical technology landscape.

The Technical Lead will provide hands-on engineering leadership for a cross-functional product delivery pod working across a modern Angular frontend, Python services, APIs, data and cloud components. The role requires a strong full-stack engineer who can translate product and architecture direction into maintainable implementation, guide developers through complex technical decisions, and remain directly involved in design, development, code review, testing and troubleshooting.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Product Owner, Lead Architect, Business Analyst, clinical SMEs, QA and DevSecOps teams to deliver safe, demonstrable product increments while maintaining engineering quality and consistency with the wider Study Design Hub platform.

Key Responsibilities
Pod-level technical leadership
· Lead the day-to-day technical delivery of a cross-functional engineering pod
· Translate product requirements and architecture direction into implementable designs and development tasks
· Work with the Product Owner and Business Analyst to clarify workflows, data needs, acceptance criteria and technical dependencies
· Break complex capabilities into bounded, testable and incrementally deliverable work
· Identify technical risks, dependencies and blockers early and propose practical options
· Support estimation, sequencing and delivery planning while protecting engineering quality
· Demonstrate working results early through prototypes, technical spikes and thin vertical slices
Angular and frontend engineering
· Lead the design and implementation of modern Angular and TypeScript applications
· Develop and review Angular components, services, routes, guards, interceptors and shared libraries
· Design complex Reactive Forms with multilevel conditional visibility, validation and dynamic behaviour
· Implement responsive, accessible and reusable user-interface components aligned with customer’s design system
· Apply appropriate RxJS, state-management and change-detection patterns
· Integrate frontend experiences with REST APIs, asynchronous workflows and WebSocket-based updates
· Identify and refactor oversized or tightly coupled components using clear separation of concerns
· Ensure frontend code is testable, maintainable, performant and consistent with agreed engineering standards
Python, API and integration engineering
· Design and implement Python services and APIs using FastAPI or comparable frameworks
· Define clear endpoint contracts, request and response models, validation and error behaviour
· Design synchronous and asynchronous processing based on the needs of the user journey
· Implement orchestration for multiple downstream or long-running API calls
· Apply appropriate patterns for job state, polling, callbacks, events or WebSocket-based progress updates
· Address timeout, retry, idempotency, partial failure, compensation and recovery requirements
· Develop and review SQL and ORM-based data access using clear transaction and ownership boundaries
· Integrate securely with enterprise, clinical and platform services
Data, versioning and auditability
· Design data structures for study-design content, versions, status transitions and relationships
· Implement reliable change detection and preserve previous and current values where required
· Design immutable and queryable audit records containing actor, timestamp, action, object, field-level change, reason and correlation context
· Ensure that source provenance and user decisions remain traceable across workflows
· Apply appropriate access control, data-integrity, retention and privacy requirements
· Work with the Lead Architect and quality teams to ensure technical designs support validation and audit expectations
Code quality and maintainability
· Conduct code reviews covering correctness, readability, modularity, security, performance and testability
· Establish clear component, service and module responsibilities
· Apply appropriate design principles without introducing unnecessary abstraction
· Identify maintainability concerns and communicate feedback constructively to developers
· Guide refactoring through bounded, low-risk changes supported by tests
· Monitor and address technical debt according to product, delivery and operational impact
· Promote consistent engineering practices across the pod
Testing and validation-aware delivery
· Define and implement unit, integration, contract and end-to-end testing appropriate to each capability
· Ensure that business rules, conditional validation and failure paths are covered by automated tests
· Use SonarQube or comparable tools to monitor code quality, security findings, duplication and test coverage
· Partner with QA and validation teams on requirements traceability, risk assessment and test evidence
· Support Computer System Validation activities where applicable
· Ensure that audit trail, electronic record and data-integrity expectations are considered during design and implementation
· Maintain quality and validation readiness throughout delivery rather than treating them as release-end activities
Engineering team leadership
· Mentor full-stack developers and support their technical growth
· Provide clear, respectful and actionable design and code-review feedback
· Facilitate technical discussions and help the team evaluate alternatives and trade-offs
· Delegate implementation decisions appropriately while retaining accountability for pod-level technical quality
· Work with the Lead Architect on decisions that affect shared platform capabilities or multiple pods
· Support engineers working across different locations and time zones
· Manage competing priorities and capacity constraints transparently with product and delivery stakeholders
Production and operational ownership
· Support releases, production troubleshooting and operational readiness
· Ensure appropriate application logging, metrics, tracing and diagnostic information
· Investigate defects and production issues systematically and convert findings into engineering improvements
· Plan technical changes with appropriate compatibility, data-migration and rollback considerations
· Work with DevSecOps on CI/CD, environment, infrastructure and deployment concerns
· Use production evidence and delivery feedback to improve design and implementation practices
AI-assisted product capabilities
· Support implementation and integration of AI-assisted capabilities within the product
· Understand the boundaries between deterministic validation, retrieval, generative models and workflow orchestration
· Implement or guide API integration with AI and agentic services
· Preserve source context, model or prompt version, output traceability and user review where required
· Collaborate with AI specialists on evaluation, failure handling, observability and safe model changes
· Required Experience and Capabilities
Full-stack product engineering
· 7+ years of experience in software or product engineering, including technical leadership responsibilities
· Demonstrated experience delivering complex enterprise web applications to production
· Strong hands-on capability across frontend and backend development
· Experience leading or guiding a small engineering team or product delivery pod
· Ability to translate product and architecture direction into clear implementation designs
· Experience troubleshooting issues across frontend, API, data and integration layers
Modern Angular
· Recent hands-on experience with modern Angular and TypeScript
· Strong understanding of Angular components, services, dependency injection, routing, guards and interceptors
· Strong experience with RxJS and Reactive Forms
· Experience implementing complex conditional validation and dynamic form behaviour
· Understanding of component lifecycle, change detection, state management and frontend performance
· Experience with responsive design, accessibility and reusable component libraries
· Ability to write, review, test and refactor Angular code

The current product landscape uses Angular 19.2. Candidates should have recent modern Angular experience and be able to discuss current Angular engineering practices credibly.
Python and APIs
· Strong experience designing and developing Python-based APIs or services
· Experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django or a comparable Python web framework
· Understanding of Pydantic or equivalent request, response and contract-validation approaches
· Experience designing REST endpoints and service contracts
· Understanding of synchronous and asynchronous execution in Python
· Experience with background processing, long-running tasks or downstream API orchestration
· Strong understanding of error handling, retry, idempotency, security and API testing
· Experience with SQL, relational databases and ORM patterns
