Job Description

Seeking a dedicated and experienced Manufacturing Quality Management Consultant responsible for the facilitation and/or implementation of capital and process improvement projects to resolve equipment problems, save costs, and improve effectiveness. This position will be contract and onsite in Whitestown, Indiana.

What You’ll Do
• Responsible for the development and planning for such projects including setting and adhering to timelines, budgeting, ROI.
• Coordination of activities and resources including internal resources and outside contractors
• Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical and electrical problems with equipment
• Assist the Maintenance Manager on safe operating practices
• Assist with plant floor for improved equipment efficiencies and uptime
• Assist with safety committee improvements
• Manage equipment improvements that directly affect efficiencies and reliability
• Improve planning for training needs and compliance
• Provide analysis of equipment reliability and recommendation of rebuild or replacement
• Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special service
• Complete design and development projects by working with and guiding technicians
• Researching and recommending new manufacturing technology by making direct observations as well as interpreting data from other technical and operating staff
• Understand the required outcome of a particular procedure or process
• Assess safety and sanitation requirements for new and existing equipment and ensure that these are integrated into the process
• Work on various plant projects and capital equipment requests involving the startup of new operations, implementation of quality and safety improvements, and development of productivity improvements in existing products.
• Work closely with other engineers and technicians on development and research projects as well as capital projects
• Improve equipment reliability and life cycle for future production capacity needs by working closely with production and maintenance.

What You’ll Need
Required:
• 5+ years electrical or mechanical experience
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC controls, focusing on ControlLogix, SLC, PLC5, PanelView, and PanelView Plus
• 3-5 years of SAP manufacturing experience (i.e., CO, QM, PC)
• Proven leadership and strong decision-making skills with ability to show discrepancy and judgement
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent computer skills and demonstrated proficiency in Excel
• Experience working with decision-makers on business strategies and objectives

Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field or possess experience and education equivalent to such a degree
• 5+ years of project management experience
• Proven record working as a business partner in a lean manufacturing environment
• Experience in working with decision makers on training strategies and objectives
