Project Manager – Hybrid

Location: 414 Nicollet, Minneapolis, MN. Hybrid – Tues, Wed, Thurs in the office preferred, could potentially be onsite 2 days (can be flexible for weather, appointments, etc…) (Xcel does not pay for parking)

Start: 1/21 is ideal

Overview:
The first key project has a 4-5+ year time frame – put in an enterprise content management system (ECMS). We have a lot of data in the company, SharePoint sites/drives, etc. A lot of that data is unmanaged, so we aren’t able to determine what type of data or document it is, unable to set retention schedules, unable to manage it because we don’t know the attributes. This enterprise content management system will attach meta data to the data/documents, and we will be able to set compliance policies to control the data. For example: If the data is an invoice, keep for 4 years, then mark for deletion. Will give us a lot more control. This project started in July, we did analysis and design, right now we are doing a pilot of our nuclear data. Once the framework is in place, we will roll it out into other areas of the enterprise. We have to set up some things to protect the data, put our nuclear/sensitive data into a cloud infrastructure. It is built on our Microsoft licensing.

App deployment – One of the workstreams has an off the shelf application to integrate with SAP, working with a SaaS vendor. We want someone who has worked with a SaaS vendor who has deployed an off the shelf product or application into a production environment and understands how to get it up and running and get it live. We are going to have SaaS, off the shelf, and we are developing a portion of the applications using PowerApps (PowerPlatform). Migration of SharePoint sites is ideal.

This is primarily waterfall, but for some of our workstreams we are using Agile.

Team:
This team has a lot of Senior PMs. For this PM role, they will be working under a Senior PM. The Senior PM will provide them with mentorship. The ECMs project is really a program. There are 4-5 different workstreams right now and there will be more as we progress. We want to be able to give some of these workstreams to the Mid-Level PM and have them work with Leo. We need to have a self-starter and core project management skills. We want to find someone who wants a mentor and who has a good attitude about it.

Typical Day:

First month – work closely with Senior PM, understand ECMS program, understand the workstreams that they will pick up. Will work with IT teams and some business SMEs that will be part of the teams. The audit and compliance teams will be involved too. There is a potential to work with an external vendor as well.
Will contribute to a weekly status report, but Leo will actually do the full report.
Will contribute to the financials, but Leo will handle the budgets.

Ramp up time:
Approx 1 month, but Senior PM will always be there to support them. We have a rigorous project management process that they will have to learn. This person will be able to do this in a more relaxed manner as Leo will be able to walk them through this as they grow and won’t throw it at them right away.

Must Have:
3-5+ years of Project Management experience (small to medium sized projects)
Will need to know how to put a plan together, drive it, and make corrections as needed.
3-5 years working on app deployment experience
Migration of SharePoint sites is ideal.
PowerApps/Power Platform – some familiarity with it
MS Project or Jira or Smartsheets
Driven
Someone who wants mentorship

Preferred skill:
Implementing solutions using MS 365 Software, SharePoint data security and compliance, Microsoft Purview.
PMP
Experience working with business users
Basic Agile concepts – we are using a backlog, kanban board, 2 week sprints, etc..
Regulatory industry experience

Education:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Certifications
