Job Title : Software Development Engineer– Applications Development & Test
Duration: 6+ Months
Rate: $80-82/hr on Vendor W2
Location: Fully Remote –
Preferred Location: Pacific Time Zone candidates preferred; however, candidates from any U.S. time zone will be considered

Role Overview
The team is responsible for taking industrial controls data, refining and standardizing it, and moving it into the cloud so partner teams can leverage it for automation, reporting, predictive analytics, and other business initiatives.
This Software Development Engineer will focus on building automation solutions, enhancing existing systems, and modernizing industrial controls and telemetry data processes using AI/ML capabilities and modern software engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions supporting industrial telemetry workflows
• Build and maintain C#/.NET automation tooling, including console applications and Worker Services
• Develop solutions that transform Excel-based device templates into CSV/configuration outputs
• Build and enhance machine learning classification models to automate telemetry tag-to-template mapping
• Apply feature engineering techniques to historical datasets to improve automation accuracy
• Validate telemetry data using Azure IoT, Event Hub, and Kusto/KQL
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development and production environments
• Support the full software development lifecycle:
o Requirements gathering
o Design
o Development
o Testing
o Deployment
o Documentation
• Contribute to AI enablement initiatives, including Copilot/MCP-style agent patterns
• Mentor team members and maintain strong engineering documentation

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a mid-to-senior Software Engineer (5–7 years of experience) with strong C#/.NET development skills and applied machine learning experience.
Candidates should have:
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building production-ready applications
• Advanced C#/.NET experience (ideally .NET 10) and Visual Studio proficiency
• Experience developing console applications and Worker Services
• Applied ML experience using tools such as:
o ML.NET
o Scikit-learn
o Embedding-based approaches
• Experience with classification models, feature engineering, and working with large historical datasets
• Python experience for ML prototyping
• Ability to productionize solutions within a C#/.NET environment
• Experience validating data pipelines using Azure services
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
